St George Illawarra fullback Matt Dufty has been taken to hospital with a suspected fractured cheekbone after an ugly collision against Parramatta in the NRL Nines in Perth on Saturday.
The 24-year-old was caught high in a collision with Parramatta’s Ray Stone at HBF Park after the Dragons had put in a short kick-off from Ben Hunt. He was immediately taken from the field for a head injury assessment as his eye swelled. Dufty reportedly suffering a depressed fracture of the cheekbone.
If a fracture is confirmed, he is facing around a month on the sidelines. Dufty was reportedly already been taken to a Perth hospital needing surgery.
The Eels went on to win the match 15-7, meaning both the Dragons and Eels advance to the quarter-finals from Pool 2, with Cronulla and Canterbury missing out.
Dufty hurt in sickening collision
Brisbane are still sweating on playmaker Anthony Milford, who was taken from the field after tweaking his left hamstring on Friday night.
The Broncos have confirmed he is still a chance to play later on day two after presenting well after the game, and again on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, St George Illawarra forward Holli Wheeler is facing a long recovery after suffering an ACL tear against the Broncos on Friday.
The 30-year-old Australia and NSW representative twisted her knee in a tackle and was stretchered off the field.
