Grab announced today (19 February) that it will be providing free insurance coverage together with Chubb, for drivers and delivery partners who get infected during the COVID-19 outbreak.
All Grab drivers and delivery partners are automatically covered starting today.
They will be able to claim a payout of S$500 if they get diagnosed between today and 19 March 2020.
Drivers who have volunteered to drive for GrabCare, Grab’s dedicated round-the-clock on-demand service for healthcare workers, will be entitled to a S$1,000 payout if diagnosed.
The GrabCare service was first piloted on 14 February to support healthcare professionals who have been working hard at the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak.
Separately, Grab and other taxi and ride-hailing firms in Singapore are also providing financial support for drivers who experience a drop in business during this period.
In collaboration with the Government, these companies will be offering S$20 a day for three months to qualifying drivers.
Grab and Gojek drivers must have completed at least 200 jobs per month between October and December 2019 to qualify for the relief.
